What Can I Still Do If I Park My Licence?
Can I Still Work With Buyers and Sellers?
Absolutely. As long as your RECO registration remains active and in good standing, nothing changes in the way you work with your clients. You can continue representing buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords, and investors while completing residential, commercial, purchase, sale, and lease transactions throughout Ontario.
Can I Still Show MLS Listings?
YES. Nothing changes in the way you work as an agent. You can continue showing residential, condominium, commercial, and investment properties listed on MLS® .
If I am not a TREB member, can I still take MLS listings?
YES. Even if you are not a member of TRREB or another real estate board, you can continue taking MLS® listings and working directly with sellers.
While listings may be entered into the MLS® system as Brokerage Listings, you remain the Listing Agent and continue to perform all of the duties and responsibilities associated with the listing, including meeting with the seller, pricing the property, preparing the listing documentation, marketing the property, negotiating offers, and managing the transaction through to completion.
Can I Set My Own Listing Commission?
Yes.
Listing commissions are negotiated between you and your seller at the time of listing. The commission you charge should reflect the professional services and representation you agree to provide under your listing agreement.
Under TRESA, service options may include full representation, limited services, or Mere Posting-style listings. Toronto Real Estate Realty Plus does not offer Self-Directed Services.
Can I Offer Cash Back To My Buyers?
YES. Many agents offer cash back incentives to buyers. Toronto Real Estate Realty Plus can assist by having the rebate paid directly by the brokerage at closing, helping ensure proper documentation and accurate year-end T4A reporting based on the income you actually received.
